Terms of service

The site presents my work, experience and writing, and ways to contact me. It is a personal site: it does not sell products or services, and nothing on it is an offer to enter into a contract. Some features, such as commenting, require signing in with a Google account.

You may browse the site, read it and share links to it for personal and professional purposes. When you use it, you agree not to:

• break the law, or help anyone else to;
• try to get into parts of the site that are not public, such as the area where it is managed, or into other people's accounts;
• interfere with the site's security or performance, for example by overloading it, probing it for weaknesses or spreading malicious code;
• collect content from the site in bulk by automated means, except search engines indexing it as its robots.txt allows;
• pretend to be someone else, or misrepresent your connection with anyone;
• use the contact form or comments for spam, advertising or chain messages.

If you find a security problem, please report it privately via joenash156@gmail.com rather than exploiting or publishing it.

You can sign in with Google to comment, reply, like posts and report comments. You are responsible for what is done through your account and for keeping your Google account secure. You can stop using your account at any time, and ask me to delete it via joenash156@gmail.com.

You keep ownership of what you post. By posting a comment or reply, you give me a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free permission to show it on the site, store it and moderate it for as long as it remains on the site.

Please be respectful. Do not post anything that:

• is unlawful, hateful, harassing, threatening, sexually explicit or defamatory;
• is deliberately false or misleading;
• infringes someone else's rights, including copyright and privacy;
• shares another person's personal information without their permission;
• is spam or advertising.

I may hide, restore or remove comments, and stop people from commenting, at my discretion, in particular when content breaks these rules or is reported by others. Comments are the views of the people who wrote them, not mine.

Unless stated otherwise, the text, images, designs and documents on the site (including my CV) belong to me or are used with permission, and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may view them, share links to them, and quote short extracts with credit and a link back to the source.

You may not copy, republish or sell them, or use them to train machine-learning models, without my written permission.

Code shown on or linked from project pages may be published under its own licence, such as an open-source licence in its repository; that licence applies to that code.

When you send a message through the contact form, please give accurate contact details and do not include confidential or sensitive information that you would not want stored. Sending a message does not create an obligation for either of us, and I cannot promise to reply to every message.

The site links to other websites and services, such as code repositories, social networks and project demos. I do not control them and am not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices; they have their own terms.

I may change, suspend or stop any part of the site at any time and without notice. I aim to keep it available and accurate, but cannot guarantee that it will always be online, free of errors or up to date.

The site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available". Content is for general information: it describes my own work and opinions, and it is not professional, legal, financial or technical advice for your situation. To the fullest extent the law allows, I make no promises about the site's accuracy, completeness or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent the law allows, I am not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any loss of data, profit or opportunity, arising from your use of the site or your reliance on its content. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law.

I may suspend or end your access to the site, or to features such as commenting, if you break these terms or use the site in a way that could harm others. The sections on contributions, my content, no warranties and limitation of liability continue to apply afterwards.

I may update these terms from time to time. When I do, I will change the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. If you keep using the site after a change, the updated terms apply.

These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana, and any dispute about them will be handled by the courts of Ghana, unless the law of the country where you live gives you the right to bring it there. If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies.
